The students of Guru Tegh Bahadur 3rd Centenary Public School did the school proud at the ‘World No Tobacco Day’, celebrated by Indian Cancer Society in alliance with Global Community. The event was organised at Navy Children School, Chanakyapuri, on 26th April, 2019 in which twenty six prestigious public schools of Delhi and NCR participated with great enthusiasm. The WHO theme for this event was ‘Tobacco and Lung Cancer’. Students of Std. VI to Std. VIII designed a paper bag on a half folded newspaper and wrote slogans. The best 3 entries from the school were sent to ICS. Jalnidh Kaur of VIII B won the IInd prize. She was the proud recipient of a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 800. At the Secondary and Senior Secondary level, Harsimran Kaur, Bhumika, Seerat Singh, Sukhpreet Singh, Daan Singh, Parth and Banmeet Singh showcased the theme ‘Tobacco and Lung Health’ in a musical presentation. They bagged the IIIrd prize and were awarded certificates and a cash prize of Rs 3000/-.
