Earth Day was celebrated at Guru Tegh Bahadur 3rd Centenary Public School, New Delhi on 22nd April, 2019 in a special morning assembly. Gagandeep Singh and Prabhjot Singh of class X B apprised the students gathered about the importance of this day and the deteriorating condition of the earth. They also enlightened the children about the theme of Earth Day 2019 which is ‘Save Our Species’. They also suggested ways to save the endangered species. It was followed by a poem entitled ‘What You Can Do’ by Sirjan Kaur of IX D. Various activities like a visit to the school garden and planting saplings in it, reusing plastic bottles to create useful items, making personalized paper bags and creating something useful from waste were carried out by the students of class IV – VIII. Documentaries on Climatic Change, Global Warming etc. were shown to the students of class IX and X, after which a brain - storm session was conducted. The students participated whole – heartedly in them.
