Baisakhi was celebrated on 15th April 2019, with great zeal and enthusiasm in Guru Tegh Bahadur 3rd Centenary Public School, Mansarover Garden, New Delhi. A special assembly was held to mark the occasion. The celebrations commenced with a soulful shabad ‘Khalsa Meri Jaan Ki Jaan’, rendered by the Divinity Choir. Then ensued a short speech by Sehajdeep Kaur & Harliv Kaur of Std. X-B, who acquainted the gathering about the importance of this festival & the life & teachings of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth guru of the Sikhs. They shared with the congregation the meaning & significance of the names ‘Singh’ & ‘Kaur‘. Seerat Singh of Std. X-A, recited a poem ‘Khalse Da Janam Dihara’ wherein he explained the significance of ‘Baisakhi’. Last, but not the least, a lively & energetic Bhangra was performed by the students of Std. X-B. They were dressed in Punjabi colorful outfits & finery to accompany. It was a remarkable, informative & enjoyable show indeed.
